Product description
Skim Style Wakesurf Board ā Hyperlite ā 2026
Who this is for
Advanced skim riders who want a board built to handle a deep bag of tricks ā spins, shuvits, ollies, and riding switch. The Storm is engineered for speed, response, and technical precision, shaped by Aaron Stumpf to meet the demands of skim riders on Okanagan Lake.
The board
The 2026 Hyperlite Storm is a pro-level skim board shaped by Aaron Stumpf, built to keep up with the worldās best skim riders. The blunt tip and tail profile makes the Storm nearly symmetrical, so it tracks just as well riding switch as it does regular ā essential for the most technical riders who live in both directions. The wider tail generates the speed and push you need down the line, while the diamond tail corners release water cleanly for quick, controlled snaps and spins. Hyperliteās Nova Core with woven carbon construction produces a board that is lightweight and genuinely snappy ā responsive to every micro-adjustment, and explosive when you commit to a move. A minimal rocker and flat base keep the board fast across the wave at all times, and the single 1.25ā Solo Skim Fin provides just enough grip for precise landings without overloading the loose, skatey feel the Storm is known for.
What makes it work
Nova Core + Woven Carbon
Hyperliteās Nova Core paired with woven carbon laminates produces one of the most responsive and lightweight constructions in skim-style wakesurfing. The woven carbon is compression moulded for consistent flex and a snappy feel that rewards aggressive riding ā you push it, it pushes back instantly.
Blunt Tip & Tail ā Symmetrical for Switch
The blunt nose and tail reduce swing weight and make the board handle virtually identically in both directions. For riders working on reverts, alley-oops, and riding switch on Okanagan Lake, this is a critical design feature ā the board doesnāt penalise you for being backwards in the wave.
Wide Tail + Diamond Tail Shape
A wider tail gives more push and drive from the wave, increasing ollie power and momentum down the line. The diamond tail shape provides sharp corners that release water cleanly for quick snaps and controlled spins ā you get precise pivot on demand without the board dragging through the turn.
Minimal Rocker + Flat Base + Solo Fin
Minimal rocker and a flat base maximise speed across the wave at all times ā the board never bogs down or loses momentum between tricks. The single 1.25ā Solo Skim Fin provides precise tracking for clean landings while staying loose enough to release freely into the next move.
