Who it's for: Technically capable women skiers who are serious about the uphill and demand performance on the way down. The Backland 108 W carries the same construction, rocker profile, and touring-specific engineering as the Backland 109 in a lighter, shorter package built for women. Built for skiers doing full day tours in the Gorge, Rogers Pass, or Revelstoke's sidecountry ā this is a ski that rewards an aggressive, driving style rather than a more relaxed, surfy one. |

The Backland 108 W is the women's version of Atomic's most touring-focused wide-waist ski ā same construction, same 25/55/20 asymmetric Powder Rocker profile, same FreeTour engineering, lighter and shorter. At 1310g for the 167cm, it's a genuinely light ski for what it delivers: a stiff, directional, performance-focused touring ski that doesn't ask you to compromise between skinning efficiency and descent capability. The asymmetric 25/55/20 rocker keeps the ski directional and locked-in at speed ā more tip rocker than tail, which means confident float in deep snow on the way down and predictable edge hold on firm terrain. An Ultra Light Woodcore and fiberglass layup deliver torsional rigidity without the weight penalty. This is not a forgiving all-conditions ski. It rewards skiers who know how to drive a ski and want it to respond when they do. |
