Creative Surge Is Back — And We're With Them
When Nothing in the Pantry announced they were bringing back Creative Surge to Silver Star's Spring Queening festival, we were in without hesitation. It's exactly the kind of event we want our name on — built by people who love skiing and snowboarding and actually give a damn about the community around it.
It hits a little different for us too. The Attridge name goes back to Silver Star's very beginnings — Bill Attridge was one of the original founders of the resort. So getting behind an event like this isn't just a sponsorship. It's personal.
Silver Star's Spring Queening
Most resorts spend April winding the park down. Silver Star is doing the opposite — for the second year running they're going all-in, shutting down the regular mountain and building a supersized spring park loaded with jumps, rails, creative features, and a snake run. With 700 cm of natural snowfall and zero man-made snow, they've got the goods to pull it off.
"With many resorts cutting back on their park offering, it's refreshing to see someone lead by example." — Newschoolers
The full April calendar is stacked — The Gathering Grounds, Creative Surge, Snake Pit Slalom, Park Bucks Jam, and a film contest running the whole month with edits screening April 25th. Something for everyone.
April 8–11
The Gathering Grounds
A female-forward session by our friends at Nothing in the Pantry — riding, community, and real connections. We're proud to be alongside them again.
April 12–14
Creative Surge ★
The main event. A creativity competition for riders and photographers. Style and expression over score. Attridge is a key sponsor.
April 18
Snake Pit Slalom
Timed race through the snake run tubing lanes. Carnage, chaos, and a lot of laughing.
April 25
Park Bucks Jam
Silver Star's classic annual jam — rolls, bowls, rails, snake run. Prize table, music, beer garden. Film contest edits screen here.
Why Creative Surge Is Different
Creative Surge is Nothing in the Pantry's event — and it's not your typical ski comp. It's a female, non-binary, and gender non-conforming focused creativity competition. No points for biggest air, no podium for cleanest grab. Riders and photographers go head to head on style, originality, and expression. Real prizes, zero cookie-cutter skiing or snowboarding.
That's exactly the kind of thing we get behind. Silver Star has always been underrated as a freestyle destination — Creative Surge is proof the mountain is leaning into that identity, and it's exactly where we want to be.

Shoutout to Nothing in the Pantry
Huge love to the NITP crew. They've built something real — a community for women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming skiers and snowboarders to ride together, connect, and push each other. No fluff, no gatekeeping. Just good riding and good people.
This is the second year we've sponsored Creative Surge alongside NITP — and it won't be the last. Every time we work with them it's a reminder of what this sport can look like when it's done right. Give them a follow and come see what they're building.
"Nothing in the Pantry gets it. The skiing and snowboarding is real, the community is real, and the energy they bring every time is something else."
