The board

CAPiTA calls the Kazu the switchblade of powder boards — compact, quick, precise, and dangerous in the right hands. The concept is simple: a powder nose and tapered tail on a shorter, more maneuverable chassis than a conventional freeride board, so you can charge sidecountry stashes in the morning and transition seamlessly to resort terrain once the secret's out. Kazu Kokubo built his reputation on exactly that kind of riding — big mountain freestyle with effortless technical style — and the board reflects his approach at every level. The Resort V3 Directional profile raises the camber platform through the inserts for carving power and edge hold on hardpack, lifts the contact points for clean float in powder and smooth landings, and uses traditional tip and tail arcs for fast, natural transitions. A meaningful taper of 6-10mm across the lineup (depending on size) keeps the nose naturally high without demanding back-foot pressure all day. The Skinless Core Ash Woodgrain Topsheet is unique to the Kazu — a pure wood veneer that is 220g lighter than CAPiTA's standard topsheet process, reducing swing weight for faster, easier turns. Standard sizes come with a white topsheet; wide sizes come with a black topsheet. The Moonshot Omni-Tune race-base structure wicks water at a 45° angle for maximum glide speed at every point on the mountain. This is the board for a Revelstoke powder day that turns into a full resort lap — no compromise required.
