THE ATTRIDGE FIT TIP: SNUG IS RIGHT
When it comes to impact vests, smaller is better. If a vest is easy to zip up on land, it’s too big for the water.
The Girdle Fit: You should have to "suck it in" to get the zipper started. It should feel like a tight girdle.
The 10% Rule: Neoprene expands roughly 10% when wet. That "slightly too tight" feeling in the shop translates to a perfect, secure fit once you hit the lake.
Lose the Tee: Even a thin T-shirt can make a vest feel snugger than it is. For the most accurate fit, try it on exactly how you’ll wear it on the boat.
Safety First: A loose vest will ride up to your chin upon impact. If you can fit more than two fingers under the shoulder straps on land, size down.
