Skim Style Wakesurf Board — Hyperlite — 2026
|
Who this is for
Riders new to skim style or making the transition from surf style — and anyone who wants a board that is genuinely easy to progress without losing the ability to push it harder as skills develop. The Hi-Fi is shaped for all ability levels, from first spins on Okanagan Lake through to high-end manoeuvres.

The board
The 2026 Hyperlite Hi-Fi is shaped by Aaron Stumpf for a fast, poppy, and easy-to-spin feel that works across a wide range of ability levels. Where the Storm is built for the most technical riders, the Hi-Fi is designed to bring that same skim-style fun to more people — including those trying skim for the first time. Hyperlite’s DuraShell construction gives the Hi-Fi an EPS core that is buoyant and responsive without the heel-dent vulnerability of softer boards, making it genuinely durable for everyday boat use on Kalamalka Lake. The flat tip and tail base design keeps the board fast and consistent across the wave, the pin tail releases cleanly for quick spins, and the three P-Wing fins give you the right balance of drive and freedom to pull off tricks without fighting the board. As we cover in our wakesurf guide, skim-style boards are designed for spins, shuvits, and surface tricks — and the Hi-Fi makes all of that more accessible than any other board in the Hyperlite lineup.
What makes it work
|
DuraShell Construction — EPS Core
DuraShell is Hyperlite’s durable, lightweight compression-moulded construction built over an EPS core. It resists heel dents and handles the regular abuse of board racks, dock bumps, and daily boat sessions without showing it — while still delivering a poppy, buoyant feel that makes skim tricks easier to execute.

Flat Tip & Tail Base Design
The flat tip and tail base keeps the Hi-Fi fast and consistent across the pocket of the wave, with minimal rocker that doesn’t rob speed between tricks. Whether you’re carrying momentum for a 360 or building speed for an ollie, the board stays efficient underfoot without requiring constant input.

|
Pin Tail — Clean Release
The pin tail narrows to a clean, precise release point that lets the board break free quickly and rotate with less effort. It’s a forgiving tail shape for riders learning spins — you don’t need to muscle the board around. The mid tail profile keeps enough surface area to maintain speed and wave connection.

3× 0.8” P-Wing Fins
Three P-Wing fins in a thruster setup provide the right balance of grip and freedom for skim-style riding — enough drive to track through the wave and initiate turns confidently, loose enough to break free into spins without sticking. A more forgiving fin setup than the single solo fin on the Storm.

Suggested weights limits are for the best riding experience. As a general guide, lighter and more experienced riders tend to size down for less swing weight; heavier or more casual riders prefer the larger size for more float and momentum. Not sure? Call us and we’ll help.
