Getting a kid on a snowboard for the first time is all about removing the fear — and that's exactly what the Grom Ketchup was designed to do. Burton's most beginner-friendly board combines a flat profile between the feet for stability, upturned edges that make catching an edge nearly impossible, and the softest flex in the lineup so even the lightest riders can get it turning. At Silver Star, Big White, and Revelstoke, the early days on snow are supposed to be fun — the Grom makes sure they are. It grows with young riders too: the 120 and 130cm sizes add more insert options for a wider stance as kids get taller and more confident. For the youngest riders, the Riglet attachment point (110 and 120cm only) lets parents tow them around with or without bindings while they find their balance. This is the board that starts snowboarders.

Size by your child's height and weight — not their age. Kids vary widely and height is the most reliable guide. The 110cm is Riglet compatible for the youngest learners. When in doubt, come in — we'll sort it out.
| Pairs with Burton youth bindings The Grom uses Burton's 3D insert pattern and is designed to be paired with Burton's youth binding lineup. The 110cm has a simpler 4-insert-per-binding setup; the 120 and 130cm add extra inserts for stance width adjustment as kids grow. We stock Burton youth bindings in-store — ask us about building a complete setup. |
