Product description

All-Mountain Freeride — Lib Tech — 2027

Who this is for

Intermediate to advanced riders who want a true quiver killer. Lay down deep carves on morning corduroy, surf effortless pow in the afternoon, and don't waste a second overthinking either. The Lib Rig is a straight-up shop favourite — and literally the deck our owner picked as their daily driver this season.

The board

Austen Sweetin rode pretty much every board in the Lib Tech lineup in every condition imaginable, studied his favourite geometries across the collection, and worked with Mervin's design team to combine them into one. The result is the Lib Rig — and it immediately became a staff favourite here at Attridge, and the board our owner chose to ride this season. It's easy to understand why. The early rise C3 profile floats the nose without going full-rocker, keeping the tail loaded with camber energy for deep carves and powerful pop on takeoff. Magne-Traction® keeps it locked on Silver Star hardpack when afternoon freeze sets in. The floaty directional nose surfs Revelstoke powder without losing the control that lets you actually charge the terrain you earned. A switch-functional tail means you're never trapped. Lib Tech didn't overthink it — Austen just built the board he wanted to ride, and it turns out that's the board a lot of riders have been waiting for.

Camber Profile

Early Rise Directional Camber (C3)

Setback elliptical camber through the tail for powerful pop, carving, and edge hold. Early rise in the nose for effortless turn initiation and powder float — more forgiving than a pure camber nose without giving up any of the tail energy. The profile that makes the Rig easier to ride than its 7/10 flex suggests.

Shape

Directional — Mid Volume Shift

Full-sized floaty nose with a streamlined profile, mild taper, and a switch-functional tail. Deep sidecut for high-speed carving. Mid Volume Shift — size up 1–2 cm from your normal length for the intended ride feel.

What makes it work

Magne-Traction®

Seven strategically placed edge serrations that grip hardpack and ice where a smooth edge gives up. The biggest three teeth sit between your feet — the "dead zone" where your balance is centred — keeping control right where you need it most on firm afternoon snow.

OP+ Core — 75% Aspen / 25% Paulownia

Original Power Plus construction — Aspen for strength and consistency, Paulownia to cut weight and add a lively feel underfoot. FSC-certified, Mervin-built, and sourced from renewable forests. A core that pops without being heavy.

Triax / Biax Fiberglass

Two fiberglass orientations working together — Triax for snap and vibration damping, Biax for maximum pop and reduced chatter. The combination gives the Rig a stable, confident feel at speed without sacrificing response in quick terrain.

Birch Internal Sidewalls + UHMW Sintered Sidewalls

Birch internal sidewalls add pop and vibration absorption — wood reinforcement that makes the flex feel alive rather than dead. UHMW sintered outer sidewalls for durability and impact resistance. Built to survive a full season of hard use.

Sintered Knife Cut Base — Mervin Made, Washington USA

High-density UHMW sintered base with exceptional wax retention — fast out of the shop and stays fast with regular waxing. Handbuilt at Mervin Manufacturing in Sequim, Washington with zero hazardous waste. Same factory, same standards, whether it's the Lib Rig or the Golden Orca.

Size guide

Length (cm) Waist Width Min. Rider Weight Flex
153 251mm 115 lbs / 55 kg 7/10
155 253mm 130 lbs / 60 kg 7/10
157 255mm 140 lbs / 65 kg 7/10
159 256mm 140 lbs / 65 kg 7/10
160W 265mm 145 lbs / 65 kg 7/10
162 257mm 150 lbs / 70 kg 7/10

Mid Volume Shift board — Lib Tech recommends sizing up 1–2 cm from your normal length. Weight figures are minimums, not a ceiling. The 160W sits between the 159 and 162 as a wider option for riders with larger boots, without stepping up in length unnecessarily. When in doubt, come in — we'll sort it out.

The Lib Tech Lib Rig is available in-store at Attridge Ski & Board in Vernon, BC — your home base for Silver Star, Revelstoke, and Big White. We ship free across Canada on orders over $150.

Not sure if this is the right board for you? Our crew has ridden every board we sell and can help you find the best fit. Come in and we'll match you to the right setup for your ability, your boot size, and the terrain you love to ride.
