Beginner Wakefoil Kit — Ronix — 2026
Who this is for
Anyone who wants to get into wakefoiling without spending a season fighting their equipment. This is our number one selling foil setup — and the one we recommend to every first-time foiler on Okanagan Lake. The adjustable Shift Mast is the reason: it lets you start low and safe, then grow into the kit as your skills develop, all without buying a new setup.
Attridge Staff Pick — Best Intro Foil Setup
We’ve been selling the Shift series since it first came out and it’s consistently our top-selling foil setup — paired with the 28” solid mast for riders who are ready to fly. The adjustable mast is what makes this the easiest way to get your crew started. Start at 17”, build confidence, and work your way up. Come see us in-store to talk through the right setup for your board and skill level.
The kit
The Ronix Beginner 17–26” Shift / Balance Series is the most complete, most accessible way to start wakefoiling on Okanagan Lake — and for 2026 it’s been updated with a fourth mast height, now adjusting from 17” all the way to 26”. The centrepiece is Ronix’s patented Shift Mast: the world’s only telescoping adjustable wakefoil mast, which lets one kit cover the entire beginner progression rather than requiring you to buy a new setup as you improve. Start at 17” — the lowest, most stable, most forgiving height — to nail deep water starts and understand body position without the mast punishing every mistake. Work up through 20” and 23” as confidence builds, then hit 26” for real flight sensations before stepping up to a fixed mast. The Balance 1300 front wing is built for stability and consistency — its elliptical outline and additional width lock you into the sweet spot and hold you there rather than launching you up and slamming you down. The Balance rear stabilizer and patented Vertical Stabilizer work together to control pitch and roll on take-off and through turns, dramatically reducing the abrupt, hard-to-manage starts that make foiling frustrating for beginners. Everything connects through Ronix’s CNC-milled Link 3D fuselage for a rigid, efficient connection between every component. Note: this kit does not include a foil board — ask us in-store about compatible board options.
What makes it work
Shift Mast — 4 Heights in 1
Ronix’s patented telescoping adjustable mast sets at 17”, 20”, 23”, or 26” — new for 2026 with the addition of the 17” low position. Start at the lowest height to master deep water starts and body position on Okanagan Lake, then raise it one step at a time as your skills improve. One setup covers the entire beginner progression without buying new hardware.
Balance 1300 Front Wing
1,300cm² of elliptical wing designed to lock you into the sweet spot and keep you there. The white paint over the carbon makes it easy to see how deep the wing is relative to the waterline — a practical built-in depth gauge that helps beginners understand and control their flight height on Kalamalka Lake. Stable, consistent, and forgiving without being sluggish.
Vertical Stabilizer — Patent Pending
Ronix’s patent-pending vertical stabilizer slides onto the fuselage and acts like a centre fin on a surfboard — slowing down the take-off, locking in turns, and giving new riders a much more controlled, predictable flight pattern. The two hardest parts of foiling are the abrupt start and the yaw-style turn. The vertical stabilizer solves both. Slide it off once you’ve built the foundation.
Link 3D Fuselage + Balance Rear Stabilizer
The CNC-milled Link 3D fuselage (39cm) starts as a block of high-grade alloy and is precision-machined for a perfect, rigid fit between the mast, front wing, and rear stabilizer. The Balance 240cm² rear stabilizer is tuned for extra lift and stability — high enough performance for advanced riders on high-aspect setups, but perfectly calibrated for the learning curve on a beginner kit.
Board not included. Our recommended pairing is the Ronix 727 Tuff Tech Foil Board (3’8”, 4’1”, or 4’8”) — ask us in-store and we’ll help you choose the right size for your weight and skill level. For riders ready to step beyond the adjustable Shift range, this kit also pairs well with the 28” solid mast.
