The board

The Golden Orca is what happens when Travis Rice's Natural Selection-winning Orca shape gets pushed further toward twin territory — without giving up any of the pow-floating magic that made the original a legend. The long directional nose eats Revelstoke powder lines for breakfast; the new Power Kink tail means when you ride switch, the board doesn't feel like it's working against you. Magne-Traction® keeps those wide edges locked into Silver Star hardpack no matter how cooked the snow gets by afternoon. One board, every mountain, no excuses.

Camber Profile

Directional C2X Hybrid

Rocker between the feet for float and easy turn initiation, with aggressive camber zones underfoot for explosive pop and edge hold. More camber pressure underfoot than standard C2 — this board locks in and drives hard when you push it.

Directional — Volume Shifted

Long nose, narrowed tail with 1" of setback and 9mm of taper. Floats in pow like a directional, rides switch like something much closer to a twin.

What makes it work

Magne-Traction®

Seven strategically placed edge serrations grip hardpack and ice where a smooth edge would let go. The board's wide waist means more edge in contact — Magne-Traction makes sure all of it holds.

Power Kink Tail

The big upgrade over the standard Orca. Extended tail geometry floats switch takeoffs and landings the way the nose handles regular pow — without giving up the snap and pop the Orca's always had going forward.

Firepower Construction (FPH)

Lib Tech's high-performance build — lightweight, lively, and more responsive than standard construction. Balsa added to the core between the bindings improves response; basalt smooths out vibration at speed.

Makah Hemlock / Paulownia Core

60% Makah Hemlock, 40% Paulownia — sustainably harvested by the Makah tribe near Lib's factory in Washington. Strong, poppy, and light. The Hemlock brings energy the standard Orca core doesn't have.

Triax / Biax Fiberglass Layup

Multi-directional glass construction balances torsional stiffness with a smooth, forgiving flex. Precise when you push it; damps out the rough stuff when you don't.

Ocean-Bound PBT Topsheet

Eco-sublimated topsheet made from recycled PET plastic recovered from coastal areas. Impact-resistant, UV-stable, and lighter than conventional materials — and Lib Tech actually backs that sustainability story up.

Volume-shifted board — Lib Tech recommends sizing down 1–3 cm from your normal length. A rider who normally rides 157 typically reaches for the 153 or 155; a 162 rider for the 157 or 159. Weight figures are minimums, not a ceiling — heavier riders should size up accordingly. When in doubt, come in — we'll sort it out.

About the volume-shifted platform The Golden Orca runs wider than a conventional board — 260–268mm waist depending on size — but the tight sidecut radius that comes with a volume-shifted shape actively compensates for that width. The result is a board that's more responsive edge-to-edge than the numbers suggest, and works well across a range of boot sizes, not just large ones. Bigger feet will appreciate the platform; regular to smaller boots ride it just fine. Size down 1–3 cm from your normal length — that's the intended setup, not optional.
